Sesame Dressing Recipe

Here’s a great Japanese restaurant in the city I live in and I absolutely love the sesame sauce that they serve with the steak and rice.  I’ve been on the lookout for a comparative, yet easy, recipe and this is the closest that I’ve come.  It’s sooo good!

 

What You Will Need:

 

–   1 Tbsp of minced garlic

–   1 Tbsp of minced ginger

–   6 Tbsp of soy sauce

–   1 Tbsp of rice wine vinegar

–   1 Tbsp of sesame oil

–   1 Tbsp of sugar

–   3/4 tsp of red pepper flakes

–   2 Tbsp of mayonnaise

–   1/4 cup of vegetable oil

 

What You Will Need to do:

Place all the ingredients into a blender and mix well.  Enjoy!

Bacon and Spinach Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Make something a little different this season by adding bacon and spinach to your mashed potatoes 

 

What You Will Need:

–   About 2 pounds of potatoes

–   1 Tbsp of butter

–   1/3 cup of bacon pieces

–   2-3 cloves of minced garlic (depending on preference)

–   1 – 300g package of frozen spinach

–   1 container (250g) of herb and garlic cream cheese

 

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Boil potatoes as usual, until they are tender.

 

2.   While you’re waiting for the potatoes to cook, melt the butter in a saucepan. 

 

3.   Once the butter is melted, stir in the bacon and garlic. 

 

4.   Next, add the spinach and cook the contents of the saucepan for about two minutes.

 

5.   Drain the potatoes, add the cream cheese and mash the potatoes. 

 

6.   Once the potatoes are mashed, stir in the contents of the saucepan and enjoy!

 

 

Herb and Garlic Seafood Skewers Recipe

 

 

 

Here is a seafood recipe which even the non-seafood lovers in my family enjoy:

 

What You Will Need:

–   3 Tbsp of chives

–   2 Tbsp of lemon juice

–   3 Tbsp of olive oil

–   2 cloves of minced garlic

–   ¼ tsp of salt

–   1 Tbsp of thyme

–   ¼ tsp of pepper

–   16 large peeled shrimp

–   8 oz of firm, white fish fillets, cut into ¾” pieces

–   1 cup of vegetable broth

–   2/3 cup of couscous

–   1 Tbsp of lemon zest

 

What You Will Need to do:

1.   In bowl, mix the chives, oil, lemon juice, thyme, garlic, salt and pepper together.

2.   Add shrimp and fish; toss to coat.

3.   Meanwhile, in small saucepan, bring broth to boil.

4.   Stir in couscous, lemon zest and remaining pepper. Cover and let stand until no liquid remains.  This will take about 5 minutes.  Fluff with fork.

5.   Thread fish and shrimp onto metal skewers.

6.   Place on greased grill over medium-high heat; close lid and grill, turning once, until fish is opaque and shrimp are pink.  This will take about 5 minutes.  Serve over couscous.

 

Crunch Salsa Chicken Bake Recipe

 

 

What You Will Need:

–   12 taco shells, broken into pieces

–   2 ½ cups of cooked, cubed chicken

–   3 Tbsp of taco seasoning

–   2 cups of salsa

–   ¼ cup of hot sauce (or the strength sauce of your choice_

–   1 cup of sour cream

–   ½ cup of diced green chiles

–   1 cup of black olives

–   ½ cup of cilantro

–   4 cups of shredded cheese of your choice (I usually mix mozzarella and cheddar cheese together)

–   1 cup of chicken broth

 

What You Will Need to do: 

1.   Preheat oven to 350°F.

2.   Coat a 9×13” baking pan with cooking spray.

3.   Pour the broken chips into the baking dish and set aside.

4.   In a large bowl, toss the chicken with the taco seasoning.

5.   Rub the chicken cubes with your fingers to thoroughly distribute the seasoning.

6.   In a medium bowl, combine the salsa, taco sauce, and sour cream.

7.   Stir in the chiles, olives, and cilantro.

8.   Pour over the chicken and combine thoroughly.

9.   Stir in 3 cups of the cheese and the chicken broth.

10.   Pour the chicken mixture into the 9×13” baking pan over the broken taco shells.

11.   Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the cheese starts to bubble on top.

Turkey Tetrazzini Recipe

Make-Ahead Turkey Tetrazzini

Here is a great way to use up that leftover turkey that you may have

What You Will Need: 

–   1 cup of uncooked spaghetti

–   ¼ cup of butter

–   2 cups of mushrooms (can be fresh or canned)

–   3 Tbsp of flour

–   2 cups of chicken broth

–   ¾ cup of half and half

–   ¼ cup of parsley

–   1/8 tsp of nutmeg

–   ¼ tsp of pepper

–   1 tsp of salt

–   3 cups of cooked, cubed turkey

–   ½ cup of grated parmesan cheese

 

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Cook the spaghetti as directed on the package.

2.   Preheat your oven to 350°F.

3.   While you’re waiting for the spaghetti to cook, melt the butter in a large pot.

4.   Add the mushrooms to the butter and cook until the mushrooms have become tender.

5.   Now reduce the heat and stir in the flour.

6.   Next, stir in the parsley, salt, pepper and nutmeg.

7.   Add the cooked spaghetti and the turkey and mix until everything is covered.

8.   Pour all the ingredients from the pot into a 13×9” baking dish.

9.   Spread the cheese over top and cover baking dish.

10.    Bake for about 45 minutes.

11.   Take the cover off the baking dish and bake for another 10 minutes.
