Homemade Cheese Sticks Recipe


Making this treat at home is a fraction of the price, compared to buying the frozen bag and much more tasty.


What You Will Need:

–   1 cup of Bisquick mix

–   1 lb of the cheese of your choice (we usually use mozzarella) cut into 3 x ½” sticks

–   1 tsp of paprika

–   ½ cup of milk

–   1 egg

–   vegetable oil

–   spaghetti sauce or any type of dipping sauce


What You Need to do:

1.   Place the cheese sticks on a tray and place in the freezer for an hour.

2.   In a pot, pour 2” of oil and heat to 375°F.

3.   In a bowl, mix the Bisquick mix, milk, paprika and egg together.

4.   Dip the cheese into the batter that you just made, covering the cheese.

5.   Place breaded cheese stick in the pot of oil for 1-2 minutes or until it becomes light brown.

6.   After, place on a paper towel, to get rid of the excess oil and enjoy!



Mac and Cheese Pie Recipe

A combination of mac and cheese with pie, doesn’t get much better than this!


What You Will Need:

–   1 frozen pie shell

–   3 ½ cups of cooked elbow macaroni

–   2 Tbsp of flour

–   3 Tbsp of butter

–   2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

–   1 ½ cups of 2% milk

–   1 tsp of cayenne pepper

–   6 slices of cooked, chopped up bacon

–   1 tsp of salt

–   1 tsp of pepper

–   ¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese


What You will Need to do:

1.   Preheat your oven to 400°F.

2.   Bake the pie shell as indicated on the packaging.

3.   While you’re waiting for the pie to bake, melt the butter in a skillet.

4.   Add the flour to the butter and stir until completely mixed together.

5.   Next, whisk the milk gradually into the butter mixture and continue to whisk until the sauce has come to a boil.

6.   Now add the cheddar cheese and cayenne pepper.  Continue to whisk for 3 to 5 minutes until cheese is melted, sauce is thicker and creamy smooth.

7.   Take the cooked macaroni, cheese sauce, ½ the bacon and ½ the Parmesan cheese together in a large bowl. Add the salt and pepper at this point.

8.   Fill the baked pie shell with cheese mixture, top with remaining bacon and parmesan cheese.

9   Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until top is slightly golden.

Jimmy Buffett’s Like Spicy Jalapeno Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

What You Will Need:

–   2 cups of melted cream cheese

–   2 ½ cups of heavy cream

–   8 Tbsp of butter

–   ¼ tsp of Creole seasoning

–   1 tsp of salt

–   1 cup of cheddar cheese (this may seem like a lot but trust me, it’s worth it)

–   1/3 cup of flour

–   ¼ cup of sliced jalapenos (if you’re a big jalapeno fan, I would suggest changing this to ½ cup)

–   ½ cup of jalapeno juice from a jar (I’ve made this before with pickle juice instead.  It changes the flavour a little bit but it still takes great in the end)

–   ¼ cup of bread crumbs

–   2 cups of macaroni noodles


What You Will Need to do:

1.   Preheat your over to 350°F.

2.   Cook the pasta as indicated on the package.

3.   In a large skillet, melt the butter.

4.   Then add the cream cheese, heavy cream, jalapeno juice and stir for a few minutes.

5.   Now stir in the cheddar and continually stir until the cheese has melted.

6.  Add the jalapenos, salt, Creole and flour.  Continue to cook and stir until everything is completely mixed together.

7.   Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray.

8.   Make a few layers of the pasta and then contents from the skillet until everything is used up.

9.   Sprinkle the bread crumbs on top.

10.   Bake, covered for 30 minutes.

11.   Now bake for another 20 minutes covered until the top has become golden brown.


Pumpkin Macaroni and Cheese Recipe


Since pumpkin season is upon us and there’s abundance at the grocery stores, here’s a yummy recipe which I can’t get enough of.

What You Will Need:

–   2 cups of uncooked elbow macaroni

–   ¼ cup of butter

–   ¼ cup of flour

–   2 cups of milk

–   ½ tsp of salt

–   ¼ tsp of pepper

–   1 tsp of Dijon mustard

–   ¼ tsp of ground nutmeg

–   1 cup of pumpkin puree

–   2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese


What You Will Need to do:

1.   Preheat your oven to 350°F.

2.   Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta as directed on the package.

3.   While you’re waiting for the pasta to cook, melt the butter in a pan and slowly stir the flour in.

4.   On low heat, stir in the milk and let simmer until everything has become thick.

5.   Now stir in the salt, pepper, mustard, nutmeg and pumpkin puree.

6.   Next, add 1 ¾ cups of the cheddar cheese.  Continue to stir until the cheese is melted.

7.   Drain the water from the pasta and then add the macaroni to the cheese sauce.

8.   Once the pasta is completely covered in the cheese sauce, pour into a 3-quart casserole dish.  Add the remaining cheddar cheese and bake, uncovered, for 25 minutes.
