Frugal Tip ~ Save Hair Dye When Doing Touch Ups

Do you dye your hair at home to save money?  If so, only use half a bottle of hair dye, when you’re touching up your roots.  In the long run, it adds up.  Just make sure to store the remaining dye in an airtight container for next time.

Frugal Tip ~ Clean Combs

With all the hairspray and other chemicals you use with your hair, it all seems to build up on your combs and brushes.  To get rid of all that junk, soak them with a few tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl with warm water.  Let soak for 5-10 minutes and rinse.

DIY / Frugal Tip ~ Homemade Facial Scrub and/or Body Exfoliant

Around this time of year, my skin seems to go crazy with the weather changing.  To help your skin out, try making a mixture of 1 part water to 3 parts baking soda.  Rub this mixture in circles to exfoliate your skin.  Rinse the mixture off your skin.  Your skin feels so much better after this.

Frugal Tip ~ Relieve Dry and Itchy Skin

It’s only the beginning of winter and my skin is already dry and itchy.  Do you have the same problem as me?  Take a tablespoon or so of cornstarch, depending on the area of skin you want to put this on, and add vinegar until it has become a paste.  You wouldn’t think the combination would work well to relieve dry and itchy skin but it really does.
