Homemade Just Like Bisquik Recipe

Save some money by making Bisquik at home:

 

What You Will Need:

–   10 cups of flour

–   8 Tbsp of baking powder

–   1 tsp of cream of tartar

–   1 ¼ cups of powdered milk

–   1 Tbsp of salt

–   1/4 cup of sugar

–   2 ¼ cup of shortening

 

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until the contents become fine and crumbly.

Note:  This can be placed in the freezer until you’d like to use it.

I made this cake which I originally found at the My Recipes Website.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the delicious cake when I did make it but trust me, everyone you make this for will love it!  Click HERE to find out the ingredients and instruction on how to make it yourself.

Cranberry Truffles Recipe

 

Homemade truffles are great any time of year and I think loved by most.  Use various coatings like chopped nuts, dried cranberries, cocoa powder to make an assortment of truffles.

 

What You Will Need:

–   ¾ cup of butter

–   ¾ cup of light corn syrup

–   1 ¾ cups of canned sweetened condensed milk

–   ¼ cup of water

–   ¾ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder

–   2 cups of either fresh or frozen cranberries

 

What You Will Need to do:

1.   In a saucepan, mix the cranberries, corn syrup and water.  Stir continuously until the cranberries pop and mixture thickens.  The set aside to cool.

2.   In another saucepan, melt the butter, stir in cocoa and condensed milk.  Continue to stir until contents of pan thickens.  Then stir in cooled cranberry mixture.

3.   Refrigerate the truffle mixture for 3-4 hours so that everything is cool.

4.   Finally shape into 1-inch balls, roll in desired coatings and enjoy.

 

Mud Pie Recipe

 

 

Who doesn’t love having mud pie for dessert?  Here is a simple recipe to do this at home:

 

What You Will Need:

–   22 crushed vanilla wafers

–   2 Tbsp of melted butter

–   1/2 cup of finely chopped pecans

–   1 package of cream cheese

–   3/4 cup of icing sugar

–   1 ½ cups of thawed whipped topping

–   1 package of chocolate instant pudding

–   1 ¾ cups of milk

 

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Preheat your oven to 375°F.

2.   In a bowl, mix the butter, wafer crumbs and nuts together and place on the bottom of a pie plate.  Then place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.

3.   In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar.  Next, slowly whisk in 1 cup of whipped topping and place over the crust.

4.   Now beat the pudding and milk together and pour over the cream cheese.

5.   Place in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving.  Put the remaining whipped topping before enjoying.

 

Turtle Peanut Butter and Toffee Cookies

Hmmm, I love turtle cookies! Here is the recipe below to make your own:
 
What You Will Need:
– 1/2 cup of butter
– 1/2 cup of brown sugar
– 1/2 cup of sugar
– 2/3 cup of peanut butter
– 1 egg
– 2 cups of flour
– 2/3 cup of toffee bits
– 2/3 cup of chopped peanuts
– 2/3 cup of chocolate chips + another 2/3 cup of chocolate chips
– 1 ¼ cup of vanilla caramels
– 3 Tbsp of whipping cream
 
What You Will Need to do:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Beat together the butter, brown sugar, other sugar and peanut butter until it becomes creamy. Then beat in the egg.
3. Now add the flour and continue to beat until everything is mixed together well.
4. Do not blend but stir in the toffee bits, peanuts and 2/3 cup chocolate chips.
5. On an ungreased baking sheet, make tablespoon sized balls with the dough.
6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cookies become golden brown.
7. In a microwaveable bowl, mix the caramels and 3 Tbsp of whipping cream together and place in the microwave for about 30 second, stir and continue until completely melted. Take out of the microwave and stir in the vanilla.
9. With a spoon, drizzle the caramel mixture on the cookies.
8. In a separate bowl, melt the remaining chocolate chips in the microwave for about 30 second, stir and continue until completely melted.
10. Now with a spoon, drizzle the melted chocolate overtop of the caramel on the cookies.

Salted Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe

 

I cannot find the words to describe how much I love desserts that are both salty and sweet.  I think it’s a perfect combination and this recipe fulfills a craving like this that I found at the Philadelphia website.

 

What You Will Need:

–   1 ¼ cups of Oreo baking crumbs

–   1/4 cup of melted butter

–   3 packages (250g) of cream cheese

–   3 eggs

–   3/4 cup of sugar

–   1/2 cup of baker’s semisweet chocolate – melted

–   3/4 cup of thick caramel sauce

–   1/2 tsp of course sea salt

 

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Preheat your oven to 350°F.

2.   In a bowl, mix the Oreo crumbs and butter together.  Then press onto a bottom of a 9” springform pan.

3.   Now beat the cream cheese and sugar together.  Then slowly add the eggs.  Follow by stirring in the chocolate.  Pour over the crust.

4.   Bake for 40 minutes.  Let cool and then run a knife around the rim of pan to loosen cake.  Place in the refrigerator for about 4 hours.

5.   Spread the caramel sauce over the cheesecake and then sprinkle the salt on top.

Homemade Gummy Candy Recipe

 
As a treat, I remember eat gummy bears growing up. Here’s an easy recipe so you can make gummy candies at home:
What You Will Need:
– 1 can of frozen fruit juice
– 42 grams of gelatin
– candy mold of any shape
– cooking spray
What You Will Need to do:
 
1. Once the frozen juice is thawed, place in a saucepan and slowly stir in the gelatin.
2. Continue to stir and bring contents of saucepan to a boil.
3. Take the saucepan off the heat and let it cool down a little bit but so that it still can be poured.
4. Lightly spray the candy mold with cooking spray. Then slowly pour the mixture into the mold. I usually use a ladle or measuring cup with a spout.
5. Let the candy set, for 45 minutes.
6. Once set, take the candies out and enjoy!

Mocha Toffee Brownies Recipe

 

For all you coffee lovers out there, here is the perfect brownie recipe:
What You Will Need:
– 2 Tbsp of instant coffee
– 1/4 cup of hot water
– 1/4 cup of butter
– 1/4 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
– 1/4 cup of toffee chips
– 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa
– 1 ½ cups of flour
– 1 1/3 cups of sugar
– 1 tsp of vanilla extract
– 1/2 tsp of salt
– 1 tsp of baking powder
– 2 eggs
– cooking spray
What You Will Need to do:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. Spray a 9” baking dish with cooking spray.
3. In a bowl, mix the hot water and coffee. Continue to stir until the coffee has dissolved.
4. In a separate, microwaveable bowl, mix the butter and chocolate chips together. Place in the microwave for about a minute or until the contents of the bowl are melted, smooth and mixed together well.
5. In a large bowl, mix the flour and then the sugar, cocoa and salt together.
6. Next, slowly stir in the coffee mixture, followed by the butter mixture. Once that is all combined well, add the vanilla and eggs.
7. Pour the contents of the large bowl into the baking dish and then sprinkle the toffee chips on top.
8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, check with a toothpaste to see when contents of pan are completed baked.

Cookie Dough Bites Recipe

 

Who doesn’t love cookie dough?  Here is the perfect recipe to satisfy a cookie dough craving.

 

What You Will Need:

–   3/4 cup of miniature chocolate chips

–   2 cups of flour

–   1 cup of butter

–   1 ½ cups of brown sugar

–   1 tsp of vanilla extract

 

What You Will Need to do:

1.   In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar together.

2.   Now add the rest of the ingredients.

3.   Once everything is mixed well, roll the dough into 1″ balls.

4.   Place the balls in the fridge for at least half an hour before enjoying!

 

Note:  if desired, melt some chocolate dips and drizzle over balls.
