Just Like Earl’s Kung Pao Chicken Recipe

I absolutely love the Earl’s dish – Kung Pao Chicken.  I’ve got the recipe close to the restaurant’s version and here it is:

What You’ll Need:

–  1 tbsp vegetable oil

–  1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts

–  1 onion

–  8 oz green beans

–  2 tsp grated fresh ginger

–  2 cloves garlic

–  tbsp oyster sauce

–  2 tsp cornstarch

–  2 tsp chili garlic sauce

–  1 sweet red pepper

–  1/2 cup roasted unsalted peanuts

What You’ll Need to do:

1.  In wok, heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium-high heat and cook sliced chicken.  Remove to plate.

2.  Add remaining oil to pan and add sliced onion, chopped green beans, grated ginger and minced garlic for about two minutes.

3.   Add 1/3 cup water.  Then cover and cook over medium heat until no liquid remains (usually about three minutes).

4.  Whisk together oyster sauce, cornstarch, garlic chili sauce and 1/4 cup water, then set aside.

5.  Add red pepper to pan and cook until crisp.

6.  Place chicken back into pan.  Sprinkle peanuts over dish.

And remember, add 1-6 peppers, depending on how hot you like it!

If you have any recommendations on how to get this dish to be more like the original, I’d love to hear from you.

About Dino
There are many things that I love to do. One of those things is crafts! If I could find a job that involved crafts and being able to pay the bills, I'd be all over it! I've also found a great love for cooking and baking in the past few years. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to be able to fully get into cooking and baking to the degree that I would like to. I've also found myself making a HUGE effort to save my family money. I'm still a beginner but I'm surprised at how many different ways I've found to save money, including starting to use coupons! I hope you enjoy all that I'm about to share.
