A&W Like Onion Rings Recipe

Whenever we go to A&W, no matter what we order, we always order some onion rings.  Here’s a recipe to make these yummy onion rings at home:

What You Will Need:

–   ¼ tsp of onion powder

–   1/8 tsp of pepper

–   1 cup of McCormick Golden Dip Tempura Batter mix

–   ½ cup of water

–   ¼ cup of beer (regular or non-alcoholic works fine either way)

–   6 cups of vegetable oil

–   1 extra large white onion, sliced about 3/8” thick

–   seasoning salt

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Preheat the deep fryer to 375°F.

Note:  You can just try to fry these up in a frying pan, if you don’t have a deep fryer.

2.   Mix the tempura mix with the spices, water and beer.  To get rid of the lumps, using a whisk seems to work best.

3.   Slice up the onions and dip them in the batter.

4.   Now that the onions are covered in the batter, place them in the deep fryer for 3-5 minutes or until they become golden.

5.   After they have been in the fryer, place them on a paper towel to absorb the access oil.

6.   Right before you are about to serve the onion rings, sprinkle with the seasoning salt.

About Dino
There are many things that I love to do. One of those things is crafts! If I could find a job that involved crafts and being able to pay the bills, I'd be all over it! I've also found a great love for cooking and baking in the past few years. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to be able to fully get into cooking and baking to the degree that I would like to. I've also found myself making a HUGE effort to save my family money. I'm still a beginner but I'm surprised at how many different ways I've found to save money, including starting to use coupons! I hope you enjoy all that I'm about to share.
