Halloween Truffles Recipe

Here’s a great Halloween treat that I found at the Kraft website with a few personal changes. I think this would be great for a school Halloween party or really any party.
What You Will Need:
– 6 squares of baker’s bitter sweet chocolate
– ¼ cup of whipping cream
– 1 Tbsp of butter
– 6 squares of baker’s white chocolate
– 3 drops of yellow food colouring
– 2 drops of red food colouring
– 3 Tbsp of flake coconut
– black decorating gel
What You Will Need to do:
1. Microwave the bittersweet chocolate squares, cream and butter in a bowl for about 3 minutes, stirring every minute, until the chocolate is melted. This may take longer than 3 minutes. After melted, cover and place in freezer for about an hour or until it is firm enough to handle.
2. Then, with a teaspoon, scoop and roll chocolate mixture into 20 balls which are about 1” in diameter. Place on waxed covered baking sheet and place in the freezer for 20 minutes.
3. Now take the 3 of the white chocolate squares and place in a microwave for about 3 minutes, stirring every minute, until the chocolate is melted. Set aside.
4. Now take the remaining 3 of the white chocolate squares and place in a microwave for about 3 minutes, stirring every minute, until the chocolate is melted. Add the food colouring to this white chocolate. Cool the chocolate completely.
5. Dip 10 chocolate balls in tinted chocolate, turning to evenly coat each ball. Try using a toothpick for easy dipping. Return to baking sheet. Repeat with remaining chocolate balls and untinted chocolate. Decorate orange truffles with coconut to resemble pumpkins. Use decorating gel to draw eyes and mouths on white truffles to resemble ghosts. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until chocolate is firm. Keep refrigerated.
Those truffles look tasty!
