Frozen Chocolate and Banana Pops

I can’t stop thinking about this delicious summertime recipe.

I found this on the Kraft website which suggests using peanuts but as an alternative, I used sprinkles (sorry forgot to take a picture before they were gone).

What You’ll Need:

–   9 (about 3 oz) paper or plastic cups

–   9 wooden popsicle sticks or plastic spoons

–   3 tbsp of finely chopped peanuts (I used 4 ¼ tbsp of coloured sprinkles)

–   1 package of chocolate instant puddingFrozen Chocolate & Banana Pops recipe

–   1 ½ cups of cold milk

–   2 fully ripe bananas (like what you’d use for banana bread)

What You’ll Need to do:

1.   Put 1 tsp of nuts or sprinkles in to the bottom of each cup.

2.   Make pudding as instructed on the package.

3.   After you’ve made the pudding, mash bananas and stir in.

4.   Insert popsicle sticks into the center of each cup.

5.   Place in the freeze for about 5 hours.

Decoupage Glass Vase Craft Idea

Are you like me and have a bunch of different vases that you have no idea what to do with?  Here’s an idea:

  1. Cut whatever type of tissue paper that you would like displayed to fit around the vase.
  2. Brush Mod Podge or a glue like that on the vase and then press the tissue paper lightly.  Make sure not to rub or the tissue paper will tear and bunch.
  3. Let the tissue paper and glue dry.
  4. Apply another coat of glue and let dry completely.
  5. Finally, add a thin layer of varnish to finish your creation off.

Dairy Queen Ice Cream Recipe

While growing up, I remember walking over to the local Dairy Queen on a extremely hot day for a delicious treat.  Now you can save by making it at home.

–  2 packages of gelatin

–  4 cups of whole milk

–  1 tsp of salt

–  3 cups of sugar

–  3 cups of cream

–  3 tbsp of vanilla

1.   Soften gelatin in cold water (about ½ cup).

2.   Heat milk until extremely hot but make sure not to boil and then add the gelatin.

3.   Add sugar, salt, vanilla and then let everything cool down.

4.   Add cream and place in refrigerator to slowly cool together (about 4 hours) before placing in the freezer.

Hp Sauce Recipe

Here’s the closest I’ve been able to come to making homemade Hp sauce.

What You’ll Need:

– 10 tomatoes, chopped or 1 ¼ cups of tomato puree

–   1/4 tsp hot sauce – Franks or Tabasco work fine

–   1 cup brown sugar

–   1 onion chopped

–   1 lemon sliced finely

–   ¼ cup of white vinegar

–   1 tbsp of salt

–   1 tbsp of all spice

–   ¼ tsp of cinnamon powder

–   1 tbsp of pepper

–   1 tbsp of Worchester sauce

What You’ll Need to do:

1.   Combine all ingredients in a large pot.

2.   Bring Cook contents of pot until sauce thickens.

3.   Pour contents into a strain or if you don’t have one, a coffee filter will suffice.

If you have any suggestions to make this even closer to the original, I’d love to hear them!

Way to Reuse Vase – Bookend

Are you like me and having a ton of vases collecting dust in the closet?

One idea to use one of those vases is to use it as a bookend.  There are many different things that you could put in the vase for decoration but here’s one idea that may work for your home:

Take seashells, marbles, stones or any other small objects and fill the vase.  Make sure that are some heavy enough items so the vase can hold the books up.
