Home Made Graham Crackers Recipe

Here’s a great treat for the young and old.  This is another good idea to do with the kids as an activity.  This recipe should make about four dozen.

What You Will Need:

–  3/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour

–  1 1/2 cups whole-wheat graham flour

–  1/4 cup sugar

–  1/4 cup brown sugar

–  1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

–  1 tsp baking powder

–  1/2 tsp baking soda

–  1/2 tsp salt

–  1 tsp vanilla extract

–  1/2 cup butter

–  4 Tbsp honey

–  1/4 cup cold water

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Preheat oven to 350°F.

2.   Mix both flours, both sugars, baking powder, salt, baking soda and cinnamon in a bowl with an electric mixer.

3.   Now add butter (it’s best to use cold butter).  Then add honey, vanilla and water.  Continue to mix until the contents of the bowel is mixed into a ball.

4.   Next, roll out dough onto waxed paper.  Leave the dough to be about 1/2 inch thick.

5.   Place dough in the refrigerator for about an hour until it is firm.

6.   Now that the dough is firm, lightly flour the dough and roll out the dough so that it is about 1/8 inch thickness.

7.   Then cut dough into roughly 2 inch squares and placed on parchment lined cookie sheets.  Poke each square a few times with a fork, like you would when baking a pie.

8.   Bake for 15 minutes or until the squares are lightly browned at the edges.

Ladies,

Tired of spending too much money on shaving cream for your legs?

Instead of shaving cream, use your hair conditioner to shave your legs.  It’s amazing how much money you’ll save and I found that it leaves my legs even smoother than shaving cream.  You don’t even have to use the expensive conditioner, just whatever is on sale.

Homemade Fruit Flower Bouquet

Ordering a fruit a bouquet can be very costly.  You can easily make one at home for less than half the price as what the professionals make.

What Tools You Will Need:

–   Vegetable peeler

–   Melon baller

–  Flower shaped cookie cutter

–   Thin wooden skewers (like you would use for kabobs)

–   Pot or basket

–   Play Dough or clay (will explain later)

What Ingredients You Will Need:

–   Pineapple

–   Seedless watermelon

–   Honeydew Melon

–   Cantaloupe

–   Grapes and/or raspberries

–   Strawberries

–   Chocolate

–   Parsley

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Use the vegetable peeler to remove the skin of the honeydew and cantaloupe.

2.   Slice off skin and round off pineapple and watermelon.  Then slice into rough 1/2-i nch thick ring.

3.   Take the cookie cutter, cut our flowers from the middle of the watermelon and pineapple rings.  With the remaining pieces of watermelon and pineapple, use the baller and carve out holes for the centres of the flowers.

4.   With a skewer, thread a flower petal and place piece of fruit ball in centre.  Note it really looks attractive when you use opposite fruit for the centres and petals.

5.   Warm chocolate like a fondue on a double boiler.  Stick skewer into strawberries and then dip into chocolate.

6.   Take play dough or clay and insert in the pot or basket you are going to use for the bouquets.

7.   Insert skewers with fruit into the dough/clay.

8.   Once all your fruit skewers are placed, place some twigs of parsley in-between the skewers.  This fills in the bouquet, hides the skewers and makes it look more like a flower bo
